Rauch Architecture was commissioned to combine two different neighboring apartments in the recently finished skyline tower, the tallest residential building in Queens. The scope included minor interior work throughout the apartment, but the main focus of the project was the conversion of a former bedroom space into a luxury bathroom and dressing room.
In order to allow the Manhattan skyline view to take precedence, Rauch Architecture used a minimal palette with simple, large format tiles installed with matching grout lines for a seamless bathing experience that enhances the view.
The layout was devised to create a seamless spa=style experience, with a ceiling mounted rainfall showerhead providing multiple showering experiences, including waterfall, steam, and mist settings.
The freestanding tub with a waterfall faucet provides a generous place to bathe with a view.
Reeded white oak wood panels were used at the vanity to warm up the space along the sink wall.
Wood doors further this theme, and the rest of the apartment makes use of clean, simple detailing to allow the skyline of Manhattan to take a front seat.
