We recently met our client on site to review the plan for installing an antique marble fireplace in our historic Long Island City townhouse project. We wanted to create a “statement” piece for the living room, and our client found an amazing antique fireplace from a dealer in the Netherlands. We are proposing to install this on the existing chimney in the space, and to infill it with a pretty unique tile layout. Sometimes the best way to review materials is on site, in the actual space that they will be located, so we usually try to create little mockups with the actual samples of the proposed materials. We will keep you posted as we develop the design further!
